6 Weeks-16 Months

Infant PageAs a parent you are the most significant adult in your child’s life and therefore know him/her the best. Our Infant program uses a child-centered curriculum based on the specific needs of your child. Your child’s day will follow his/her eating, sleeping, diapering, and play patterns.

Our teachers use the primary caregiver model. Each caregiver is assigned a small group of children. They create a strong bond with each child by diapering, feeding, putting them to sleep, playing, and providing a loving atmosphere throughout the day. The primary caregiver’s group of children also often form strong relationships with the other children in their group. These relationships often mimic sibling bonds and may be especially rewarding for “only children.” The parent and adult primary caregiver will communicate and share information building a positive parent-teacher rapport.

Teachers teach infants sign language to help them communicate their needs. Common signs include milk, more, all done, eat, drink, please, and thank you.

Teachers work with your child daily on classroom goals of social & emotional, cognitive/academic, self-help, & physical skills to help infants meet the Minnesota’s Early Learning Standards: Birth to Kindergarten.
